Mission of Relief
Peace and blessings of Allah SWT be with you,
We are Jamila, Karem, Summer and Aisha. We formed Al-Khair Relief Society to address the dire shortage of humanitarian relief in Gaza. We are a grass roots volunteer-driven society and do our best to listen to the people in Gaza. Brother Karem is our ears in Gaza and leads in sourcing and distribution.
Our objective is to bring relief and restore dignity to vulnerable sectors of society in Gaza, especially orphans and widows. Volunteers are in Gaza, willing to help their neighbors with Allah’s help and your help. The extent of how much they are able to help depends on you and funds raised, by Allah’s will.
A focus has been on providing batch meals to the displaced, mostly orphaned children. Volunteers also distribute water from a well that was sponsored through a group of generous private donors. A current initiative is fundraising for a waqf (endowment) school in Deir el-Balah for some of Gaza’s vulnerable children, many orphaned. Other aid that Al-Khair Relief Society provides when possible includes medicine, tent repairs, and blankets.
